An invitation adds an organization to your FTE Tree account. Use the email that received it. If your employer already uses FTE Tree, follow its invitation; Start free creates a separate trial organization.

Accept your invitation

  1. Follow the link in the invitation email.
  2. Sign in or create an account with the invited email, then verify that address.
  3. Review the invitation on Welcome or under Profile, then Invitations.
  4. Choose Join organization.
  5. Complete the organization’s company sign-in or MFA requirement when prompted.

You do not need an organization permission to accept. The invitation must be active and match your verified account email. FTE Tree does not accept it automatically.

If the invitation is missing

Open Profile, then Email, and compare the verified address with the invitation. Aliases and forwarded messages do not change the invited address. If you have no organization yet, Welcome shows invitations for your verified email.

Verify the invited address on your intended account if it should be your account email, or ask the administrator to cancel and replace an invitation sent to the wrong address. Avoid creating extra accounts to test addresses.

Check invitation status

Status or message What to do
Scheduled Wait for its start date or ask the administrator to update it
Expired Ask the administrator to update its dates or send a replacement
Cancelled Ask whether a new invitation is appropriate
Accepted Open the organization instead of accepting again
A selected role is unavailable Ask the administrator to select an available role
Company sign-in is required Use the intended company account and complete its sign-in requirements

Someone with the Manage user access permission can correct an invitation or send a reminder. They should check the exact address, dates, allowed email domains, selected roles, and department coverage. Once corrected, return to Profile, then Invitations, instead of relying on an old email link.

If you joined but cannot see records

Membership can be active without an access role. Ask your administrator to check your roles and department coverage in FTE Tree. Company sign-in confirms who you are; your administrator assigns your access separately.

Joining does not bypass company sign-in. A browser may have selected a personal Microsoft or Google account; use the company account intended for this organization. Your company identity administrator can help with company-account or provider MFA problems.

If the organization opens, the invitation succeeded. Use Cannot see a record or action for missing access rather than requesting another invitation.

Switch organizations

Open the organization selector and choose the organization you want. Complete any company sign-in or MFA check it requires.

Each organization keeps separate records, roles, departments, settings, and subscription access. Switching does not copy information or carry your permissions into another organization. Check the organization name before making a change, especially when using several browser tabs.

If an organization will not open

The status page explains whether entry is blocked by inactive membership, organization availability, sign-in requirements, or MFA. Follow that message or ask the listed organization contact. Recovering your account password does not restore removed organization access.

For an unresolved invitation problem, contact support with the organization, invited email, invitation status, visible message, and approximate time. Never include passwords or one-time codes.
