Questions before you start.
Clear answers about managed positions, trials, included capabilities, and subscriptions.
What counts as a managed position?
Active approved positions count whether filled or vacant. A position must be currently effective and available, have an approved name, and use a status configured to count as active.
Do vacant positions count?
Yes. A position counts once whether it is vacant or has one or more assigned employees.
Do draft positions count?
Draft, discarded, archived, unavailable, and inactive positions do not count as active approved positions. A submitted new position request can reserve capacity for one position while it is being reviewed.
What happens while a submitted new position request is being approved?
A submitted new position request that proposes an active position temporarily reserves capacity for one position. A denied or cancelled request releases that capacity. A request to change an existing position does not reserve additional capacity.
Do archived, unavailable, or inactive positions count?
No. Archived, unavailable, and inactive positions do not count. Future approved positions begin counting only when they become effective, available, and active.
Is pricing based on employees?
No. Pricing is based on managed positions, not employees or assignments. Changes in who occupies a position do not change how many positions are counted.
Are users limited or billed separately?
No. Users are unlimited, so you can invite everyone who needs access without adding per-user charges.
How does position pricing work?
Each position is charged at the rate for its range. For 100 positions billed annually, the first 50 cost $1,800, and the next 50 cost $1,500, for a $3,300 annual total.
Is there a minimum paid plan?
Yes. Paid subscriptions start at 50 positions. If you enter fewer positions, the calculator shows the price for the 50-position minimum.
Does the minimum apply during the trial?
No. Trial quantities can be below 50 positions and can include up to 1,500 positions. The 50-position minimum applies only when you select a paid subscription.
What happens above 500 positions?
Estimate pricing for up to 1,500 positions. Contact FTE Tree if you manage more than 500 positions. Trials can include up to 1,500 positions.
Is a credit card required for the trial?
No. Start a 30-day free trial without a credit card. There is no charge unless you separately select a paid subscription.
Are prices before tax?
Yes. Public prices are in USD and exclude applicable tax. Tax may be added when required.
Are integrations included?
Standard CSV and Excel imports and exports are included. Prebuilt connections to HR, payroll, recruiting, financial-planning, or business-intelligence systems are not included. Direct customer API access is not currently available.
Does FTE Tree replace payroll or an HRIS?
No. FTE Tree works alongside your HR, payroll, recruiting, and financial systems. It helps you manage position plans, labor-cost assumptions, approvals, reports, and structured data exchange rather than replacing those systems.
