Troubleshooting
Email or notification did not arrive
Check work in FTE Tree, verified email, notification preferences, invitation status, company email rules, mail filtering, and reminder eligibility.
Updated August 7, 2026
Overview
Start by checking FTE Tree itself. A delayed or blocked email does not remove an invitation, approval assignment, comment, message, billing notice, or other work shown in FTE Tree.
Then check the verified account email, organization policy, personal preferences, and mail filtering.
Check the work in FTE Tree
Depending on the message:
- Open Needs my review on Home or Requests > My approvals > Ready now for approval work.
- Open Profile > Invitations for invitations.
- Open the relevant position, request, or message thread.
- Open billing or subscription pages for billing activity.
- Review organization and account status messages.
If the work is present, continue there while investigating delivery.
Confirm the verified email
Open Profile > Email and confirm:
- The address is correct.
- It is verified.
- A pending replacement address has completed verification.
- It belongs to the intended person.
Organization email uses the current verified account email.
Check notification preferences
Open Profile > Notifications in the organization. Optional approval-result and comment emails can be turned off.
Important sign-in, security, invitation, billing, support, and approval-action messages may still be sent when required.
Preferences are organization-specific where shown, so check the organization related to the missing message.
Check invitation status
An invitation email is useful, but the invitation state in FTE Tree controls acceptance.
Ask the administrator to confirm:
- The exact address.
- Active dates.
- Not cancelled or already accepted.
- Allowed email domain.
- Active roles.
The administrator can send a reminder for an active invitation.
Check approval eligibility
Approval email goes to approvers assigned to active work under the organization’s notification behavior. Reminders stop when:
- The stage is complete.
- Another approver decided it.
- The assignment is no longer active.
- The request closed.
Open Requests > My approvals > Ready now to confirm whether action is still required.
Check organization email policy
An organization can allow email only to exact domains. company.com and mail.company.com are different domains.
The rule can stop organization notifications to a verified address that is no longer permitted. It does not remove membership or choose a sign-in method.
An organization administrator can review the current email policy and its history.
Check mail delivery
- Look in spam, junk, quarantine, and focused/other inboxes.
- Search for FTE Tree and the expected subject.
- Ask the mail administrator whether the message was blocked.
- Allow the FTE Tree sending domain according to company policy.
- Avoid repeatedly requesting codes or reminders; use the newest message.
For one-time sign-in codes, request a new code only after checking the address and filtering. Use it within five minutes.
Information for Support
Provide:
- Organization.
- Verified recipient email.
- Message type.
- Related request, invitation, import, or billing reference.
- Approximate expected time and time zone.
- Whether the item appears in FTE Tree.
- Whether other FTE Tree messages arrive.
Do not send passwords, one-time codes, recovery codes, or unrelated personal information.
