Overview

Select Home to open the starting point for your current work in FTE Tree. It shows work that needs your review, the status of requests you submitted, messages, recent positions and departments, and shortcuts based on your access.

Home is personal. Two users in the same organization may see different cards because their permissions, department access, pending requests, recent work, and messages are different.

Access needed

Activity Access needed
Open Home Active organization membership
Review requests waiting for you Assigned approval task or approval management access
See position shortcuts or recent positions View positions for the relevant department
Use report shortcuts The view access required for the report’s information
Access setup See Permissions and roles.

My work

The My work area can show:

  • Needs my review: position requests waiting for your decision.
  • My requests: The current status of position requests you submitted.

Open a request to review the requested values, effective dates, approval stages, FTE and cost impact, files, comments, and activity history.

Use this area at the start of the day when you need to know whether action is waiting on you. If a request does not appear, select Requests, then open My approvals > Ready now or Position requests and check its status. Home does not show requests you cannot open.

Recent work

Home can show recent positions and departments you have worked with. Recent items are filtered by your current access, so you only see records you can open.

Recent work is meant for navigation, not for a formal history review. Use activity history on the record when you need to confirm who changed a value and when the change happened.

Shortcuts

Home shortcuts can take you to:

  • Position overview.
  • Positions.
  • Reports.

Shortcut visibility follows your access. If a teammate has a shortcut you do not see, compare your access role and department access with an administrator.

What may be hidden

Home sections may be empty or hidden when there is no matching work or when you cannot access the related information.

Common examples:

  • Request cards are hidden when no matching request needs your attention.
  • Recent positions are hidden when you do not have position view access in the relevant departments.
  • Report shortcuts are hidden when you do not have report access.

This keeps Home focused and prevents users from seeing records they are not allowed to open.

Messages and comments

The Messages area helps you find comments, mentions, and request notifications. Comment email behavior depends on your user preference and your organization’s notification settings.

Messages are not a replacement for the record itself. Open the linked record before making a decision so you can review the current values, comments, attachments, and activity history on the record.

Daily review steps

A typical daily review is:

  1. Check approval work that is waiting for you.
  2. Review unread messages and mentions.
  3. Open recently changed positions or requests that you own.
  4. Run any scheduled reports needed for your role.
  5. Follow up in comments when a request or record needs clarification.

For large setup tasks, imports, report exports, and detailed review, use a desktop or laptop browser. Mobile devices are best for quick approvals, comments, and status checks.
