Set up FTE options
Create standard FTE choices, control when they are available, and maintain many choices with the Schedules import.
Updated August 8, 2026
Overview
FTE options are the selectable staffing values users can choose from a Position’s Details page. Configure them when your organization wants standard choices such as 1.0000, 0.8000, 0.7500, or 0.5000.
Positions can continue to use an earlier option after it becomes unavailable. Availability controls new selections without rewriting saved or planned values.

Create or update an option
Open the FTE options list to create a choice. Enter the FTE value to four decimal places, then open its update page when you need to change its availability.
Use a concise set of values that matches the staffing patterns your organization actually uses. Fewer deliberate choices make position entry and review easier.
Change availability
Availability actions are in the option’s update-page menu. Choose Make unavailable to remove an option from new selections. Choose Make available to offer it again.
FTE options are not deleted through standard settings. Earlier Position values and planned changes remain intact when an option becomes unavailable. Use history when you need to confirm when an option or its availability changed.
Import many options
Choose the Schedules import to add or update many FTE options from CSV. Download the template for Create or Update mode, enter an effective date for each row, and use a current-values Update template when changing an existing option.
See Prepare an import for template, validation, preview, and completion steps.
