Overview

An invitation connects your existing or new FTE Tree account to an organization. FTE Tree never accepts an invitation automatically. You review the invitation and choose Join organization.

The verified email on your account must match the invited address.

  1. Use the invited emailSign in or create an account with the address that received the invitation.
  2. Verify the addressComplete email verification so FTE Tree can match the invitation to your account.
  3. Join the organizationReview the invitation and choose Join organization.
  4. Complete company sign-inUse the organization's required sign-in method when prompted.

If you received an invitation

  1. Open the invitation email and follow its FTE Tree link.
  2. Sign in, or create an account using the invited email.
  3. Verify that email address.
  4. Review the invitation on Welcome or under Profile > Invitations.
  5. Choose Join organization.
  6. Use the organization’s required company sign-in method if prompted.

If your employer already uses FTE Tree, follow its invitation rather than choosing Start free. Start free creates a separate trial organization.

Find invitations after sign-in

Open Profile > Invitations. If you do not yet belong to an organization, Welcome shows invitations for your verified email first.

Scheduled and expired invitations can remain visible with their dates, but only an active invitation can be accepted. Cancelled and accepted invitations remain in history.

If the invitation is missing

Check:

  1. The email address shown in your FTE Tree profile.
  2. Whether that address is verified.
  3. Whether the invitation was sent to an alias or different address.
  4. Whether the invitation is scheduled, expired, or cancelled.
  5. Whether you are already a member of the organization.

Ask the organization administrator to resend an active invitation or cancel and replace one sent to the wrong address. Do not change your account to an unrelated address merely to find an invitation.

See Cannot accept an invitation for a step-by-step diagnosis.

Access after acceptance

Accepting applies the roles and department access selected by the administrator. If the invitation intentionally has no access roles, Home explains that your membership is active but areas that require a role remain unavailable until someone who can manage user access assigns one.

If a selected role became unavailable, the invitation cannot be accepted until an administrator updates it.

Invitation acceptance does not bypass required company sign-in. Use the organization’s Microsoft 365, Okta, or other configured company method before opening it.

Switch organizations

If your account belongs to more than one organization:

  1. Open the organization selector.
  2. Choose the organization you want to enter.
  3. Complete its company sign-in requirement if prompted.

Roles, departments, settings, subscription, and data remain separate. Access in one organization never grants access in another.

Understand organization status

FTE Tree checks that:

  • Your account is active.
  • Your membership is active.
  • You have usable access.
  • The organization is available.
  • You used any required company sign-in method.

The organization status page explains which requirement prevents entry. Follow that guidance or contact the organization support contact shown there.

Common questions

Can I accept an invitation with a different email?

No. Verify the same address that received the invitation, or ask the administrator to send a corrected invitation.

Why did joining not show any position data?

The invitation may have provided no role, or your role may cover only selected departments.

Can one account join several organizations?

Yes. Use the organization selector to switch between them.
