Find work that needs attention, adjust filters, and distinguish a missing record from a record you do not have permission to see.

Home helps you return to work that matters to you. What you see depends on your organization, your assigned responsibilities, and the filters you choose.
Before you begin
Use a prepared organization with a position you can view and a request assigned to an eligible reviewer. Your instructor should demonstrate a second account with different access. Do not share passwords to compare accounts.
Find work needing review
- Open Home and check the organization name.
- Find Needs my review. Open a listed request if one is available.
- Read what is proposed, the current approval step, and who can decide it.
- Return to Home. Find the same request through Position requests.
An empty Needs my review list can be correct. It shows approval steps assigned to you that are ready for a decision. Being an administrator does not automatically assign you every review.
Return to your work
- Open the prepared position, then return to Home.
- Find it under Continue working and select its bookmark to pin it.
- Open it from Pinned, confirm the date, then return and remove the pin.
- Compare Needs my review with Workspace attention. Explain which work is assigned to you and which is shared within your responsibilities.
The workforce totals describe approved positions for the displayed date and the departments you can view. They do not include proposed workforce plan changes or the pay of employees you cannot view.
Use filters deliberately
- Open Position control and find the prepared position.
- Select a department that does not contain it. The position should disappear from the matching results.
- Clear that filter and restore the intended date.
- Search by the position number again.
This time, the record was missing because of the filter. You did not need another position or a new permission.
Compare access without changing it
Ask the instructor to show the same position with the second account. One person may see the job and staffing numbers while another can also see employee names or pay.
| Missing information | What to check first |
|---|---|
| Entire organization | Invitation acceptance and organization membership |
| One position | Organization, date, filters, and department access |
| Employee name | Permission to view employees in the employee’s department |
| Salary or employee cost | Permission to view actual compensation and availability of Workforce Planning |
| A change or approval action | Permission for that action and the current status of the work |
Seeing a position does not automatically give permission to edit it or read employee pay. If access is missing, describe the task and department to your administrator so they can grant what you need.
Check your understanding
Find the position after changing a filter, then explain why a reviewer can sometimes decide a request without being able to edit the position itself.
To build the main example, continue with Create a full-time position. That lesson explains the switch from the prepared demonstration to your own practice organization.
