FTE Tree’s editions share a position-control foundation. Start with the staffing decisions your team needs to manage, then decide whether financial planning belongs in the same workflow.
Start with Position Control
Position Control supports approved positions, departments, job codes, work schedules, reporting lines, employees, and assignments. It keeps vacant capacity visible when an assignment ends.
Teams can submit position requests, apply the organization’s approval steps, and review decisions and activity history. Imports, exports, and position reports support ongoing record maintenance and review.
This scope fits teams whose main questions concern what is approved, what is staffed, what is vacant, and which changes still need a decision.
Add Workforce Planning when you need it
Workforce Planning includes Position Control and adds labor budget, actual compensation, forecasts, financial adjustments, funding, general ledger information, and financial reports.
Labor budget describes planned position amounts. Actual compensation holds employee pay with separate access controls. Forecasts let teams explore future staffing and labor budget assumptions while keeping approved information distinct.
Custom fields on a position or employee follow access to that record. They do not replace the separate access controls or calculations provided by actual compensation.
Compare the editions with one staffing decision
Take a vacant position your team is deciding whether to refill. Position Control helps you review its approved FTE, staffing, request, and decision history. Workforce Planning adds the labor budget and forecast questions involved in comparing alternatives.
Use that example to determine who needs access and which information the decision requires. The pricing page provides the current edition comparison, position-count pricing, and trial details.
Connecting with your existing systems
Standard imports and exports let teams prepare and exchange records with their other tools. Plan a representative import before bringing in the full organization.
If your process depends on a direct connection to a human resources system, confirm availability and scope with FTE Tree before planning around it. Read Getting started for setup guidance and current connection information, and Security and access for sign-in and access options.
