Introduction
The dashboard is the landing page for every user after sign-in. It brings together the information you are most likely to act on: approval requests waiting for you, requests you have submitted, messages from your organization, and recent departments and positions you have worked on. The page title includes your current organization's name, so you can confirm at a glance which organization you are viewing.
Summary Cards
Four summary cards at the top of the page show counts that are specific to you:
- Active Approvals: Approval requests currently waiting for your action as an approver.
- Upcoming Approvals: Requests that will reach you in an upcoming step, giving you advance notice of work headed your way.
- Active Requests: Approval requests that you have submitted that are still in process.
- Unread Messages: Messages sent to you that you have not yet read.
Each card links to the full list for that category so you can drill in from the number.
Pending Approvals
The Pending Approvals section lists up to five approval requests that are waiting for your review, ordered so the oldest or most urgent appear first. Each entry shows the request identifier, the submitter, and the scope of changes. Click a request to review the proposed changes and approve or deny each step. If more than five requests are pending, a link to the full approval list is shown.
If you are currently acting as a delegate for another approver, their pending requests appear in this list alongside your own.
My Requests
The My Requests section lists up to five approval requests that you have submitted and are still active (pending, in process, or returned for changes). This gives you a quick way to check the status of your in-flight work without leaving the dashboard. A link is provided to your full request list when there are more than five.
Organization Messages
The Messages section displays messages that have been configured for dashboard visibility. Messages can come from two sources:
- Organization-wide messages sent to all users or targeted groups by administrators.
- System messages generated by FTE Tree for events such as renewals or configuration changes.
Only messages you have not archived appear on the dashboard. Dismiss or archive a message to remove it from the list. For more on how messages are created and delivered, see Messages and Notifications.
Recent Departments
The Recent Departments section shows up to ten departments you have recently viewed or edited, along with the count of active positions in each. The list is scoped to departments where you have position edit permission, so every entry is one you can work in directly. Click a department to open its workspace and see FTE and cost totals, assigned role users, and the positions within it.
Recent Positions
The Recent Positions section shows up to ten positions you have recently viewed or edited. Each entry is annotated when relevant:
- Draft: The position has unapproved attribute changes waiting to be submitted.
- Scenario: The position belongs to a forecast scenario rather than the approved baseline.
Use this list to jump back into positions you have been working on without needing to search for them again.
