Two-Factor Authentication

Important Note

If your organization is an existing customer of FTE Tree, please consult with them for specific sign-in instructions. This is especially important if your organization uses single sign-on (SSO) technology. There may be a specific URL or other requirements for logging into FTE Tree.

Introduction

FTE Tree offers various authentication methods for accessing our software. You can create a login and password specific to FTE Tree or use one of our available social sign-in methods.

Upon first creating your account, you will need to verify your email address before accessing restricted areas within FTE Tree. This adds an additional layer of security to validate your identity.

Creating a New User Account

New user accounts can be created via the Sign-Up link on the FTE Tree home page. You have several options for creating an account:

  • FTE Tree Account: Create a login and password specific to FTE Tree. You will be asked for your email address and a password. Your password must meet minimum security requirements and is stored in a hashed and encrypted format. For security, use a unique, strong password for each account. If your password is compromised elsewhere, your FTE Tree account could also be at risk.

  • Microsoft 365 or Other Microsoft Account: Sign in using your Microsoft 365 or other Microsoft account. We only request your email address and name, and Microsoft provides a secure token for authentication.

  • Google or G Suite Logon: Sign in with your Google or G Suite account. We request basic information such as your email address and name from Google.

You may later switch to any of these sign-in methods under your user profile.

Additional Notes

If using an email account provided by your employer, you might need permission from your IT department to allow FTE Tree to verify your identity against your email account.
